The Committee has supported community members objecting to DA18/2115 – ‘Temporary use of land for the purpose of a function centre – weddings and social events’, based on the adverse impacts they had experienced whilst the function centre had operated without DA approval.
More than 60 objections to the Strongs Rd DA have now been submitted, with only one in favour. The Committee has requested that the application be called up for review by councillors. This DA, along with an almost identical application in Tindalls Lane, could set a precedent across the Shoalhaven.
The Berry community has had to endure two lengthy and painful campaigns objecting to applications for TVA developments. Although both DAs were refused by Council, one decision was overturned by the Land & Environment Court and the other supported only after a 6 month consideration by the LEC.
After three years research, we have developed an in-depth understanding of the loopholes in the planning legislation, and now have solutions to close them.
