Council adopts new development & heritage controls for Berry
Council has been consulting with the Berry community since December 2023 to investigate and prepare a new Development Control Plan (DCP) Chapter for Berry and an associated Planning Proposal to introduce a new Princess Street Heritage conservation Area (HCA).
Th proposals recognise Berry’s special heritage and character and aim to facilitate development that is sympathetic and responsive to it.

Berry Hotel DA
Feros is lodging an amended DA for the Hotel, based on a 20-room smaller accommodation building, no extension into the grounds of the old CBC bank building and a reduction in alterations within the Hotel building.
Onsite parking for the Hotel proposal is still a major issue. Feros have proposed a total of 22 parking spaces for a maximum of 354 patrons compared to the 92 required based on its own survey results.
