The owners of thirty properties in Bong Bong and Mount Hay Roads have joined in opposition to a proposed tourist resort development application.

The applicant is attempting to use the now infamous ‘tourist & visitor accommodation’ land use description to obtain approval for multiple accommodation buildings, with capacity for more than 60 people.

The proposal also includes a 257sqm ‘Pavillion’ that could accommodate more than 250 guests for functions, a swimming pool and a designated area for future large scale tourist accommodation.

The residents have requested the assistance of the Forum in understanding the relevant planning legislation and communications with Council, and the Committee has made an Initial Submission on their behalf pertaining to permissibility of the application.
