Berry Public School has achieved something truly extraordinary — a team of amazing students from our small country school has won both the Regional and State Finals of Tournament of Minds (TOM) and is now heading to the International Tournament of Minds in Sydney (Oct 30 – Nov 1)!

These seven talented students from Years 4, 5, 6 and mentored by dedicated teachers, will represent Berry in the Language Literature discipline, competing against teams from New Zealand, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, India, South Africa, the UAE, and Uganda.

Why They Need Your Help

The cost for the team to participate — including travel, accommodation, and event expenses — is around $7,000, which must be raised within the next week. The students have already shown amazing initiative, running a bake sale and lemonade stand during the Berry Garden Festival weekend, raising $750 toward their goal. But they still need community support to make their dream a reality.

Your donation will help ease the financial burden on families and ensure Berry Public School can proudly represent our community at the international finals.Together, we can help our small school from Berry take on the world!

What Is Tournament of Minds – an international problem-solving program that challenges students to think creatively and work collaboratively. It develops critical thinking, communication, research, and time management skills — and encourages kids to explore real-world problems with imagination and teamwork.

In the Language Literature challenge, our team will analyse and interpret texts from a range of sources, bringing creativity and insight to complex ideas. This is an incredible opportunity for these students to showcase their talents on a global stage — and for our community to stand proudly behind them.
